Details on Chris Benoit biopic

Chris Benoit biopic is reportedly in works again

The wait of the wrestling fans started first started in 2010 when the news came out about a movie titled 'Crossface' based on late Chris Benoit is coming out. The man fondly called Rabid wolverine was one of the best technical wrestler of all time and a one who had a cult fan following. In 2007 Benoit family suffered a massive tragedy when Chris Benoit murdered his wife Nancy and Son Daniel before he hanged himself .Reports say that he had suffered massive brain damage due to untreated concussions and chair shots to head, which led to this horrifying tragedy. This incident led to WWE changing their almost nonexistent wellness policy at that time and going PG.

The film's original writer Richard O' Sullivan said that he left the project because he refused to write the Kevin Sullivan speculation as a part of the film. It's a widely believed theory that the crime was committed by Nancy's ex-husband Sullivan, Revenge for marrying Benoit but there's no forensic or any kind of evidence to prove that.Variety.com reported in September 2016 that project is on and will be directed by Oscar-winning director Lexi Alexander. The biopic which mainly focusses on Chris Benoit's 2007 murder-suicide will now be produced by Ginzburg, Tony Lee and the executive producers in charge are Ram Getz and Matthew Randazzo V. The script, which will be written by Jack Goldberger and Sarah Coulter is based on the book Ring Of Hell: The Story Of Chris Benoit & Fall Of The Pro Wrestling Industry authored by Randazzo.Reportedly WWE isn't happy about the movie as it will show steroids and drug use which existed during that time in the company and the incident as a whole resulted in Benoit's name being vanished from company's records.
