PWI aka Pro Wrestling Illustrated released it's official rankings for the year 2016.And the 2016 PWI rankings was topped by Former WWE World Champion Roman Reings.Reings was named as the Number 1 Wrestler of the year 2016 by PWI.This took everyone off by surprise as Roman was picked over Okada,Nakamura and Jay Lethal which was a big shock.
Clearly, Okada had a great year in New Japan and even Jay Lethal continued his glorious title run in ROH but this wasn't enough to overcome Reings at the end of the day perhaps.
John Cena was ranked at Number 10 whereas Finn Balor was placed at Number 3 followed by AJ Styles at Number 4.Kevin Owens was ranked at number 6 , Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were ranked 8 and 9 respectively in the list.
